He was registered as Heber Robert T Dewey, born Netherfield in 1898, the son of Thomas and Fanny Dewey. In 1901 Thomas, Fanny and four children, three girls and the only son Heber, were living at 31a Arthur Street, Netherfield. Thomas worked on the railways as a railway waggon examiner. By 1911 the family had moved to 17 Godfrey Street, Netherfield, Thomas was still in the same occupation and Heber was still at school. Thomas gave his address as No 6 Traffic Terrace, Netherfield after the war.
He enlisted at Derby and died of his wounds. Buried at Dueville Communal Cemetery Extension, Italy. He was eligible for the British and Victory medals.
