Arthur Leslie Twissell was born in 1902 the son of George and Florence Emily (née Richards) Twissell who died Nottingham aged 33 in 1916. He was the brother of Ethel Maud Twissell, born 1905, (later of 59 Salisbury Street Radford Nottingham). In 1911, the family lived at 25, Harrington Street, Nottingham. They later moved to 44, Cobden Street, Radford.

Military History

Arthur Leslie Twissell died from appendicitis and perotinitis at the Curragh Military Hospital in Ireland.

Curragh Military Cemetery, Ireland, Grave Reference: 1291 Arthur Leslie's father George Machin Twissell was killed in action 16/8/1917 fighting with 1st Bn Inniskilling Fusiliers. He had formerly served with the Sherwood Foresters.
