He was the son of Samuel Alfred and Mary Ann Watts, of Radford, Nottinghamshire; and the husband of Emma Watts.

Military History

Watts was aboard LancasterIII NE138 which took off 20.24 26th August 1944 from Dunholme Lodge for mining operations in the Bay of Danzig (Privet Region). Five crewmates of Watts were also killed: Walter Mcgregor Halliday Burnett, Tom Edward Jenkins, Roy Cyril Morgan Jones, Leonard Frederick Arthur Marston, James Ernest White, and Arthur John Rickeard. Those killed are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
