He was the son of Arthur and Gladys Jarvis, of Wilford.

Military History

Jarvis was the pilot of Lancaster III LM576 which took off at 11.16 21st June 1944 from Mildenhall and crashed four minutes later at West Row 3 miles NW of Barton Mills Suffolk. Jarvis’s crewmates were George Rubin Franklin, Robert Band Grant, Keith Hollinrake, Donald Wayne McRae, Geoffrey Parker and Eric William Spriggs. P/O McRae is buried in Brookwood Military Cemetery; W/O Franklin who had married Gwendoline Franklin of Finchley is buried in Hendon Cemetery the others being taken to their home towns.
