Enoch Johnson was born in 1887 He married Lilly Birks (born 8th October 1889) in 1906 at Mansfield, they lived at 10 Hardwick Street, Sutton in Ashfield and had the following children, Frederick William born 13th March 1907, Eliza Annie born 31st May 1909, Richard Elliott born 1st August 1911 and Enoch Johnson born 4th February 1913. In 1911 they lived with Lilly's family at 11 High Pavement Sutton in Ashfield.

Military History

Private Enoch Johnson enlisted in Sutton in Ashfield, he served with the 15th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment and was attached to the 254th Tunnelling Company, Royal Engineers. he was killed in action on 6th July 1917 and is buried at Poperinghe New Cemetery, Belgium.
