Samuel Heath was born in 1896 the son of John William a coal miner hewer and the late Fanny Heath née Scott John William was born in 1864 at Huthwaite, Fanny Scott was born in 1865 at Sutton in Ashfield she died in 1902 aged 47 yrs, they had a further child a daughter Maggie born 1898. In 1911 he was living with grandparents Amos and Mary Scott at 14 Criers Yard Parliament Street Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire.

Military History

Private Samuel Heath enlisted at Sutton in Ashfield, he served with the 1st battalion Royal Welch Fusiliers and was killed in action on 25th September 1915. having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loss Memorial.
