Wallace Pike was born in 1892 and was the youngest son of Robert a leather dresser and Mary Revill Pike née Wilkinson of 59 Forster Street, Radford. His father Robert was born in 1851 at Keyworth he died in 1913 aged 62 yrs, his mother Mary Revill Wilkinson was born in 1849 at Radford, they were married in 1873 at Radford, they went on to have 10 children, sadly three died in infancy or early childhood, their children were Thomas b1875, Annie Gertrude b1876, Harry b1883, Clara Eliza b1885, Arthur b1888, Harriett b1889 and Wallace Pike b1892 all were born in Radford. In the 1911 census the family are living at 59 Forster Street, Radford Nottingham and are shown as Robert Pike 60 yrs a leather dresser, he is living with his wife Mary 61 yrs and their children, Harry 28 yrs a railway clerk, Clara Eliza 21 yrs a cigar maker, Arthur 23 yrs a french polisher, Harriett 22 yrs a mothers helper and Wallace 18 yrs a machine minder.
Private Wallace Pike enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Radford. He served with the 17th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment and was killed in action on 3rd September 1916 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
