He was the son of William and Eliza James and the brother of Mabel, Ida Patience, Doris and Hilda James. In 1911, they lived at 72 Radford Boulevard, Nottingham. Frederick William married his wife Hannah Evison (born 13th June 1891) in 1912 at Nottingham, they lived at 4 Croydon Road, Radford and later 21 Radford, Boulevard, Nottingham and had a son Edward born 17th October 1916 Following his death is widow Hannah was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week which commenced on 28th April 1919.

Military History

Private Frederick William James enlisted at Nottingham, he served wit the 1st battalion Grenadier Guards, he died of wounds on 23rd October 1918 and is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery Grave Reference: LXVI K 22
