George Hind

George Hind was born in 1887 at Radford and was the son of Thomas a machinery broker and Fanny Hind née Norton of 37 Radford Boulevard, Nottingham. His father Thomas was born in 1852 at Radford, his mother Fanny Norton was born in 1860 also at Radford, they were married in 1879 at Radford and went on to have the following children, Thomas b1881, John b1884, George b1887, Alfred b1889 and Emma b1892 all were born in Radford. In the 1911 census the family are living at 37 Radford Boulevard and are shown as Thomas 59 yrs a machinery broker, he is living with his wife Fanny 50 yrs and their children, Thomas 30 yrs a plumber, Alfred 22 yrs a twist hand and Emma 19 yrs a lace net tucker. George Hind married his wife Jane Elizabeth Bentley (born 28th September 1889) in 1910 at Nottingham, they lived at 127 Radford Boulevard, Nottingham, they went on to have a daughter Iris born 4th July 1916. In the 1911 census they lived at 19 Stansfield Street Radford Nottingham and were shown as George Hind 24 yrs a brick layer he is living with his wife Jane Elizabeth 21 yrs a tobacco stripper in tobacco factory Following his death his widow Jane was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 29th April 1918.
