Harry Breedon was born in 1896 at Wollaton, the son of Alfred a coal miner hewer and Mary Breedon née Sprake and the brother of Alfred, Ernest and Ethel Breedon. Alfred was born in 1869 at Nottingham, Mary Sprake was born in 1873 at Radford, they were married in 1895 at Nottingham, In 1911 they lived at 335 Denman Street Radford Nottingham, Albert is 42 yrs and a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wfe Mary 38 yrs and their 4 children,

Military History

Private Harry Breedon enlisted at Nottingham, he went to France on 18th August 1915 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, aged 20, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
