Leonard Victor Allen was born in 1898 the son of Frank an iron turner and Annie Allen née Storer, of 11 Gloucester Avenue, Lenton and the brother of Clarence, Mildred and Evelyn Allen. Frank Allen was born in 1867 at Derby, Annie Storer was born in 1866 at Alfreton, they were married in 1887 their marriage was recorded in the Belper registration district. In 1911, they lived at 26, Gloucester Avenue, Lenton, Nottingham. Frank 44 yrs is an iron turner.

Military History

Private Leonard Victor Allen, served with the 17th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Welbeck Rangers), he was killed in action on 17th November 1917. He is commemorated on Tyne Cot Memorial.Panel 99 to 102
