Family History

George Dobbs married Florence Maud Pedley (born 28th September 1886 ) in 1906 at Nottingham they lived at 1 Kennington Yard, Norton Street, Radford, they had the following children, William born 23rd December 1906, Florence Maud born 19th May 1909, Dorothy born 12th January 1912 and Samuel born 11th April 1916. In 1911 the family lived at 11 Miall Street Radford Nottingham George Dobbs 26 yrs a bobbin finisher, he is living with his wife Florence Maud 25 yrs and their children, William 4 years and Florence Maud 1 year of age. Following his death his widow Florence Maud was awarded a pension of 33 shillings and 8 pence a week which commenced on 7th October 1918.

Military History

Gunner George Dobbs enlisted at Doncaster, he was killed in action on 15th March 1918 and is buried in Beuvry Communal Cemetery Extension (grave ref ll/A/9).
