Frederick William Price was born in 1894 at Bulwell, he was the son of John a general labourer and Sarah Jane Price née Makepeace of 36 Newcastle Street, Bulwell. His father John Price was born in 1845 at Deal, Kent his mother Sarah Jane Makepeace was born in 1859 at Napton on the Hill, Warwickshire, they were married on 30th July 1889 at Napton on the Hill, they had a further son John born 1891 at Bulwell. In the 1911 census his mother Sarah Jane Price was living at 36 Newcastle Street, Bulwell, she is living with her sons John 20 yrs an engine shunter for the Great Central Railway and Frederick William 17 yrs a lamp man. In the same 1911 census we find his father John 66 yrs a general dealer living alone at 3 Bethnall Terrace, Bulwell.
Private Frederick William Price enlisted at Ilkeston, he served with the 6th battalion Leicestershire Regiment, he was killed in action on 27th April 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial
