Family History

Frank Lee was born in 1884 the son of the late Frank an artist and sculpture and Jane Lee of 130a Birkin Avenue Hyson Green Nottingham. His father was born in 1849 in Bath, Somerset, his mother in 1856 in Ryton, Warwickshire. They had the following children ,Violet b1883 in Bristol, Frank b1884 in Birmingham, Frederick b1893 Manchester and Harold Henry b1895 in Nottingham. Frank married Ada Hillard (born 11th March 1883) in 1909 in Nottingham and in 1911 they lived at 43, Craven Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham. They had a daughter Mary born 24th April 1912 and lived at 15 Abbey Road, Beeston. Commencing 10th September 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Frank Lee enlisted in Nottingham and is buried in Ten Tree Alley Cemetry , Puisieux Grave Reference: B 6

Extra Information

His brother Sergeant Harold Henry Lee, served with the 1/1st South Notts. Hussars. He died of wounds on 28th November 1917 in Palestine. He is buried in Ramleh War Cemetery.
