Cyril Horace Wagg was born in 1894 the son of Frederick a hotel manager and Hannah Wagg (née Huish). His father was born in 1861 at Hucknall, his mother in 1863 at Nottingham. Married in 1883, they had seven children - Wilfred b.1884, George Frederick b.1887 (killed in action 1/7/1917), Hannah b.1889, Cyril Horace b.1894, Selina b.1898 (died 1908 aged 10) John b.1899 and Harold b.1904. In 1911, the family, including Hannah’s 77 year old mother, was living at 345, St Ann's Well Road, Nottingham.
