Thomas Henry Searston was born in 1899 he was the son of Edward a vocalist and Elizabeth Ann Searston née Belshaw and the brother of Florrie, Edward, Willie and Arthur Searston. Edward and Elizabeth Belshaw were both born in 1876 at Nottingham, they were married in 1897 at Nottingham and had 5 children. In 1911 they lived at 51 Parker Street and later at 61 Holden Street (both Radford Nottingham) Edward is 35 yrs and is a vocalist.
Thomas Henry Searston enlisted at Nottingham and initially served (99929) with the Sherwood Foresters later transferring to the Royal Warwickshires. He died of wounds and is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen Grave Reference: R III L 4
In memoriam published 19th September 1919 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “SEARSTON. – Died of wounds Sept. 19th, 1918, Pte. Thomas Searston, 16th Royal Warwickshire, 61, Holden-street.
