Benjamin Reynolds (a farmer) and Ruth Ann Elliot (called Annie in census) were both born in New Brunswick, Canada and married there prior to 1883. They had six children who were all born in New Brunswick, York District, Canada. The children were, Alice born 1883, Walter N born 23/2/1885, William born 1887, James born 1890 and Nellie born 1894. Their mother died in 16 Aug 1915 and her sons and daughters spent all their lives in Canada with the exception of Walter Nicholas Reynolds who left when he joined the Army.
Walter Reynold was attested and passed medical fit for the Canadian Expeditionary Force on the 28 March 1916. His record shows his father, Benjamin, as his next of kin and declared his trade as a carpenter. He went to France with the 26th Battalion and later was reported missing in an attack North of Lens. Vague records say he died as a prisoner of war on or since 16 August 1917 as reported through German sources. He is Commemorated on the Vimy Memorial, France
