Lionel Vernon Packford was born in 1881 and was the son of William Coplestone Packford a professor of languages at Oxford and Margaret Hunt of 66 Burton Hill, Aylesham. William Coplestone was born in Oxford in 1855 he died in 1919 he was aged 64 yrs, Margaret Hunt was born in 1857 at Waterford, she died in 1911 aged 54 yrs, they were married on 12th July 1879 at St David's Church, Birmingham, they had 4 children. In 1911 Lionel Vernon has left the family home, he is living at The Rectory, Eakring, he is the private secretary of The Reverend William Cator 76 yrs a clerk in holy orders, Lionel is is 29 yrs of age. He emigrated to Vancouver, Canada where he enlisted for war service with the Candian Army. he was living at the Alcazar Hotel, Vancouver at the time.
