James Jackson Mollison was born in 1889 in Glasgow and was the son of Andrew Norman and Mary Mollison and lived at Epperstone. He was the brother of Elsie Mollison, 21 Teversal Avenue, Lenton-on-Sands, Nottingham, and Dorothy Mollison, 4 Trent Boulevard, West Bridgford. He emigrated to Australia when he was 21 yrs of age, he was a labourer and was living at Cordelia Street, South Bisbane, Queensland, Australia when he enlisted.
Private James Jackson Mollison, enlisted at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 17th May 1915 he served with the 25th Battalion Australian Infantry, A.I.F. He left Brisband on 29th June 1915 aboard HMAT A60 Aeneas. Cemetery. He saw war in Egypt, Gallipoli, and the Western Front . He embarked Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, Gallipoli, 4 September 1915. Admitted to Field Ambulance, 8 October 1915; transferred to 16th Casualty Clearing Station, 9 October 1915 (enteritis); to Mudros, 9 October 1915; to Malta, and admitted to Cottonera Hospital, 13 October 1916; transferred to Ghain Tuffieha Convalescent Depot, 9 November 1915; disembarked Alexandria, 23 December 1915. Admitted to Overseas Base, Cairo, 27 December 1915; discharged to unit, 19 January 1916; rejoined unit, Tel el Kebir, 20 January 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 14 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 19 March 1916. He died on 17th June 1916 from wounds received the previous day. He is buried in La Plus Douve Farm
His brother Private 850 Alfred Knight Mollison MM, 3rd Pioneer Bn, returned to Australia, 21 June 1919.
