Arnold Roy Martin was born in 1897 at Neutral Bay, New South Wales, Australia and was son of George and Alice E. Martin, of 26, Barclay St., Waverley, Sydney, New South Wales. His father's address as Next of Kin was given as 17 Stewart Street, Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales.

Military History

Private Arnold Roy Martin enlisted on 26th August 1915 served with the 53 battalion Australian Infantry. He embarked at age 18 from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 2 November 1915. He was wounded on 16th October 1917 a gun shot wound to his left hand (mild) and admitted to the 29th General Hospital, he was discharged on the 1st November 1917. He was wounded again , a gun shot wound to his chest and died at the 15th Casualty Clearing Station on 22nd July 1918. He is buried in Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension,
