Family History

Harold Joseph Richardson was born in 1895 at Lincoln and was the son of Walter a night watchman and Kate Richardson née Bull of 14 Ortzen Street, Radford. His father Walter was born in 1871 at Lincoln, his mother Kate Bull was also born in 1871 at Wainfleet, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1894 at Lincoln, they went on to have 3 children, sadly one died in infancy or early childhood, their other surviving child was of Joseph Richardson born 1905 at Bulwell. In the 1911 census the family lived at 501, Nottingham Road, Radford, Nottingham and were shown as Walter 40 yrs a night watchman, he is living with his wife Kate 40 yrs and their children Harold 16 yrs a carriage hand at a lace manufacturer and Joseph 6 yrs of age.

Military History

Private Harold Joseph Richardson enlisted at Nottingham, He formerly served with the 20th Hussars and was serving with the 8th battalion The Prince Albert's (Somerset Light Infantry when he was killed in action on 25th September 1915. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial Dud Corner Panels 38 & 39
