Leonard George Arthur Brown was born on 25th May 1891 he was baptised on 11th October 1891 at St Ann’s, Nottingham, he was the son of George a boot repairer and Mary Elizabeth Brown née Jarvis of 22 Clindburn Street Manning Street Nottingham, though he had previously lived at 1 Rushworth Avenue, Martin Street, Nottingham. (Evening Post April 19, 1915) George was born in 1859 at Bingham, Mary Elizabeth Jarvis was born in 1858 at Nottingham, they were married on 25th December 1885 at St Peters Church, Nottingham., they had 4 children.

Military History

Private Leonard George Brown, served with 2nd Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he died of wounds on 1st April 1915 and is buried at Lindenhoek Chalet Military Cemetery
