Charles Butcher was born in 1895 at Tunstall, he was the son of Charles and Lucy Jane Butcher. In 1911 they lived at West End Pinxton.
Military History
Private Charles Butcher enlisted at Ashton Under Lyme he served with the 2nd battalion Manchester Regiment, he was killed in action on 1st July 1916 and is buried at Blighty Valley Cemetery, Authuille Wood, France.
