He was the husband of Elizabeth Bell whom he married in 1907 the marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they had children, Mabel born 1907 and Dorothy born 1908 In 1911 they lived at 6 Washington Street, Robin Hood Street, Nottingham, Herbert is 26 yrs and is a grocery hawker, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 23 yrs and their children, Mabel 4 yrs and Dorothy 3 yrs of age, also living with them is Martha Martin his mother who is 48 yrs of age and is a widow.
