Fred Watchorn was born in 1895 at Bath and was the son of John a sewing machine agent and Sarah Watchorn née Dolby of 26 Hartley Road, Nottingham. His father John was born in 1852 at Hickling and his mother Sarah Dolby was born in 1854 at Cropwell they were married in 1885 their marriage was recorded in Melton Mowbray registration district, they went on to have the following children, Grace b1885 London, Tom b1886 Scalford, Victoria b1887 Nottingham, Kate b1889 Scalford, Fred b1895 Bath, Olive b1898 Scalford, In the 1911 census the family are living at 1 Lake Street, Southey Street, Nottingham and are shown as Sarah Watchorn 57 yrs married, she is living with her children, Grace 26 yrs no occupation listed, and Fred 16 yrs their father John is not listed at the address on the night of the census and has not yet been found on the 1911 census.

Military History
