He was the son of George and Hannah Allsopp and the brother of Clarence Allsopp. In 1881 they lived at 4 Pope's Place Derby Road and in 1901 at 86 Derby Road and in 1911 at 4 Beckenham Road Alfreton Road (all Nottingham). He was the husband of Emma L (née Peatfield) Allsopp and the father of Florence M and George E Allsopp. They lived at 9 Richmond Road West Bridgford Nottingham.
