Henry Watson Ward

Henry Watson Ward known as Harry was born in 1896 in Kirkby in Ashfield and was the son of Thomas Watson a pork butcher and Elizabeth Jane Ward née Robinson of 176 Victoria Road Kirkby in Ashfield. His father Thomas Watson was born in 1854 in Skegby and his mother Elizabeth Jane Robinson was born in 1860 in Medomsley, Durham, they were married on 16th July 1882 in Blackwell and went on to have 7 children, sadly one died in infancy their surviving children were Elizabeth b1884 Skegby, William b1885 Skegby, Thomas Sewell b1892 Teversall, Robert Clifford b1890 Teversall, Henry Watson b1896 Kirkby and Noel Alfred Ward b1902 Kirkby In the 1911 census the family were living at 176 Victoria Road Kirkby in Ashfield and are shown as Thomas Ward Watson 57 yrs a pork butcher, he is living with his wife Elizabeth Jane 51 yrs and their children Thomas Sewell 19 yrs a coal miner, Robert Clifford 17 yrs a blacksmiths striker at the colliery, Henry Watson 15 yrs coal miner ganger, and Noel Alfred 9 yrs a scholar.
