He was the son of William and Annie Haggar and the brother of Emma and William Haggar. In 1901 they lived at 3 Hoop Alley St Mary's Nottingham.
Henry Hagga (e)r was a regular in 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment) Henry went overseas on 4 November 1914. At some point he was posted to the 2nd Battalion and finally to the 16th battalion. The battalion were on front line trench duties prior to the Battle of Third Ypres. Henry was one of two 16th battalion men to be killed on 1 July 1917.
