Percy William Christian was born in 1878 at Nottingham and was the son of John a drapers manager and lace warehouseman and Elizabeth Christian. His father John was born in 1843 in Skillington, Lincolnshire and his mother Elizabeth was born in 1844 at Morristown, Devon, they had the following children their first Ellen was born in 1866 in Kent and the remaining children were born in Nottingham, they were Lydia b1873, John b1876, Percy b1878, Maude b1880, Alice b1882 and Ethel b1886. His father has died prior to the 1911 census , and Percy is shown to be living with his elder brother John, at 51 High Street, Hucknall, they are shown as John 35 yrs a tailor, he is living with his wife Mable 34 yrs and their children Edgar 10 yrs and Noah 8 yrs, also at the address is Elizabeth Christian 71 yrs a widow and mother to John and also Percy 33 yrs a brother and a grocers assistant.

Military History

Private Percy William Christian enlisted at Nottingham and served with the 3rd battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he died whilst serving with the Labour battalion at the Military Hospital Cannock Chase Staffordshire and is buried at Rugely Cemetery, Staffordshire
