Family History
He was the son of Sarah Hudson (formerly Taylor) who lived at 42 Clarence Street and later 55 Carlton Road (both Nottingham). He was the brother of William, Thomas, Sara, Annie and Clarissa Taylor. His sisters had all married by the time of George's death.
Military History
Taylor had previously completed service with 1st Battalion Leicestershire Regiment. He re-enlisted standing 5' 10" and weighing 182 lbs 31/8/1914 and served in the UK until 11/12/1914. He was shot in the head and died from these wounds at Boulogne.
