John Lawrence Leopold Moran was born in 1898 at Nottingham, he was the son of the late John Moran a brick layers labourer and Jane (Jenny) Frances Frisby of 6 Beardsley Terrace Goodhead Street Meadows Nottingham His father John was born in 1858 in Ireland, he died in 1902 aged 43 yrs his mother Jenny was born in 1860 at Nottingham, they were married on 1st May 1881 at All Hallows Church, Gedling
Private John Lawrence Leopold Moran enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 7th reserve battalion Worcestershire Regiment , he died in Hospital on 13th July 1918 at Hospital at Newcastle upon Tyne, he is buried at Nottingham General Cemetery.the
