Charles Dale was the son of Mrs. L. Taylor of 4 Brussel Terrace, Bunbury Street, Meadows, Nottingham.

Military History

L. Cpl. Dale volunteered for service and following training he was drafted to France, arriving on 18/08/1915. The 8th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment was involved in an attack on the village of Guedecourt during the Battle of the Somme. Casualties were heavy and included L. Cpl. Dale who was killed in action. His body was never recovered, but his name was commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
