Family History

David Owen was born in 1891 the son of Jonas a general carrier and Harriet Owen née Parnell and the brother of Beatrice and Wallace Owen. In 1911 they lived at Alexandra Villas Diamond Avenue East Kirkby. Jonas was born in 1861 at Dawley, Shropshire, Harriett Parnell was born in 1864 at Rougham, Norfolk, married in 1883 their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration district, the had 8 children, 3 died in infancy or early childhood.

Military History

Private David Owen, enlisted at Derby and served with the 1/7th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles), he was killed in action on 3rd October 1917. He is buried in Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe.
