Family History

John William Searson was born in 1892 at Nottingham, he was the son of John James a printer and Elizabeth Searson and the brother of Gertrude Searson. In 1911 John William is living at 53 St Stephen's Road Sneinton Nottingham, with his widowed grandmother Elizabeth Searson 70 yrs John William married Ethel Mary Murden (born 30th April 1892 ) on 14th September 1915 at St Stephens Church, Sneinton, Nottingham at that time he was living at 45 Hallam Street, Cannon Hill, Birmingham, Ethel was living at 74 St Stephens Road, Sneinton. They also lived at 138 Robin Hood Chase Nottingham. Commencing 29th April 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Private John William Searson enlisted in Birmingham whilst residing at Nottingham, he served with the 4th battalion Worcestershire Regiment, he was killed in action on 9th October 1917 and is buried at Cement House Cemetery, Belgium
