Cecil Claude Cheatle was born in 1895 he was the son of the late Walter James Cheatle a tram conductor and the late Emmeline Cheatle née Hopcroft and the brother of Minnie and Elsi Cheatle. Walter James was born in 1856 at Nottingham, he died in 1899 aged 43 yrs , Emmeline Eliza Hopcroft was born in 1858 at Thane, Oxfordshire she died in 1903 aged 45 yrs, they were married in 1875 at Nottingham, they had 7 children. In 1901 the family lived at 14 Orchard Street Greyfriar Gate Nottingham. In 1911 Cecil was boarding with his aunt an uncle Maxmillian and Elsie Boden at 3 Park Place Park Street Lenton Nottingham. Military History
