Family History

George Herbert was born 1895 the son of John a coal miner hewer and his first wife the late Harriet Louder née Kelk of Westwood, Yorkshire and the brother of John William, Arthur, Beatrice Ellen, John was born in 1864 in Walkerith, Lincolnshire, Harriett Kelk was born in 1868 she died in 1896 aged 28 yrs, married on 2nd November 1886 at Todwick, Yorkshire. His father John re married C1901 to Eliza, they had further children Priscilla, Ernest and Harry Louder. In 1911 the family are living at lived at 36 Bridge Street Killamarsh near Sheffield.

Military History

Lance Corporal George Herbert Louder enlisted at Kiveton Park, Sheffield, he was reported wound and missing on 25th November 1917 and later confirmed killed in action on that date. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
