Family History

Frederick Byron Perrin was born in 1897 at Bradford, he was the son of Frederick a solicitor and Emma Rosetta Perrin née Archdale of 62 Liddington Street, New Basford, Nottingham. Frederick was born in 1863 at Kidderminster, Emma Rosetta Archdale was born in 1875 in Yorkshire, they were married in 1897 at Bradford and went on to have 8 children. In 1911 the family are living at 91 Mill Street, Old Basford, Nottingham, Fred is 46 yrs and a solicitor, he is living with his wife Emma 35 yrs and their eight children including Frederick Byron 14 yrs of age.

Military History

Private Frederick Byron Perrin enlisted at Nottingham on 29th March 1915, giving his age as 19 yrs and 30 days and was living at 62 Liddington Street, New Basford, Nottingham. Posted to the 1/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment he landed in France on 3rd March 1916. He was killed in action, 1st July 1916, during the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme. Having no know grave his name is Commemorated: Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
