Cecil was born in 1897 in Mansfield Woodhouse and was the son of George William Ward Boaler a cashier living at 21 Melton Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham. His father George was born in 1858 at Welbeck Kennels, Worksop, he was married twice , he married his first wife Mary Jane Booth in 1884 , the marriage was recorded in the Mansfield Registration District, with his first wife he had two children , Dora b1889 and Alan b1890 both were born in Mansfield Woodhouse, his first wife Mary Jane died aged 40 yrs in 1893 in Mansfield. George's second wife was Pasha Sarah Cuadwell who was born in 1863 in Stoke on Trent , he married her in 1895 , the marriage was recorded in the Chesterfield registration area, they went on to have a further two children , Cecil Ernest b1897 and Reginald George b1900 both born in Mansfield Woodhouse. In the 1911 census the family are living at 21 Melton Road West Bridgford, and are shown as George William Boaler 52 yrs a retired cashier, he is living with his 4 children , Dora 23 yrs , Alan 21 yrs an accountant, Cecil 14 yrs a scholar and Reginald 11 yrs a scholar. In the same 1911 census his mother Pasha Sarah Boalar is living alone at 15 Taylor Street, Station Road, Ilkeston, she is shown as being 40 yrs , no occupation is listed for her.

Military History

Private Cecil Ernest Boaler enlisted in Nottingham , he served with the 24th battalion Royal Fusiliers. He landed in France on 15th November 1915. He died of wounds on 21st April 1917 and is buried in Boyelles Communal Extension Cemetery Grave Reference: I. B. 10
