Military History

Pte Sydney Rylett Worksop Guardian 11 October 1918 Few villages have a prouder war record than Blyth, which out of its small population has now lost its 25th son in Pte Sydney Rylett, East Yorks 7th Bn, son of Mr and Mrs W Rylett, Forest Farm. Pte Rylett has been reported missing since March 7th and now the news has come that he was killed in action on that date. He was 20 years of age and a fine stalwart lad well conducted in every way. We hope to reproduce his photograph in our next issue. His brother, William was wounded some time ago. Great sympathy is expressed with the family in their sorrow.
