Charles Leavers was born in 1883 the son of John a cab proprietor and Eliza Leavers née Fisher of 14 Gladstone Street Gordon Road Nottingham. John was born in 1860 and Eliza Fisher was born in 1865 both were born in Nottingham, they were married in 1883 at Nottingham, they had three children, 1 sadly died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family were living at 14 Gladstone Street, John 51 yrs is a cab proprietor and Charles 18 yrs is a plumber.

Military History

Lance Corporal Charles Leavers enlisted at Nottingham, he was killed in action on 3rd September 1916 and is buried at Ancre British Cemetery, Somme, France.
