Family History

Aaron Hufton was born in 1889, he married his wife Lillian Jones (born 1890 Pontypool) on 8th February 1910 at Mansfield registry office. They lived at 41 Central Avenue and 8 Bells Yard (both Mansfield. They had 4 children, Joseph Robert b1910, Lilian Lucy, Jessie (died 1915) and Henry (died 1916). In 1911 the family lived at 19 Pond Street, Kirkby in Ashfield. Aaron survived the war, he died in 1940 aged 50 yrs.

Military History

Private Aaron Hufton enlisted on 21st November 1914 at Mansfield, he was 24 yrs and 337 days and a coal miner, He landed in France on 18th June 1916 and was wounded a gun shot wound to his right hand and returned to England on 16th July 1916. He was discharged from the Army on 12th February 1917 and awarded a Silver War Badge Number 31070. He died in 1940 aged 50.
