Family History

William Henry Hibbert was born in 1884 he was the son of Mrs H Hibbert, of Holly House East Kirkby. He married Florence Bradley (born 24th May 1886 at Kirkby in Ashfield) in 1907, their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they lived at 17 Byron Street, East Kirkby they had the following children, Raymond Francis born 19th March 1909, Stanley born 17th October 1911 and Florence Daisy Hibbert born 13th December 1912. In 1911 they lived at 17 Byron Street East Kirkby William is 27 yrs of age and is a beer off keeper, living with his wife Florence 24 yrs and son Francis Raymond 2 yrs of age. Commencing 22dn November 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 39 shillings and 9 pence a week.

Military History

Private William Henry Hibbert enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at East Kirkby, he was killed in action on 30th November 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, France.
