He was the son of William and Mary Goulding of 49 Burton Street Nottingham.

Military History

Bernard Goulding served with the battalion at Gallipoli aged 17 and in Egypt moving to France with in July 1916. He fought on The Somme in September 1916 and Messines in June 1917. He was killed in action on 4 October 1917 during the Battle of Broodseinde during which the battalion attacked in front of the village of Poelcappelle. The attack was successful and all objectives taken but at a high cost of nearly 300 killed and wounded. John Morse
