Born c1868. Son of Arthur and Jane Brown; the family was living in Lenton, Christchurch parish, at the time of the 1891 census. Sisters Frances J, Alice, Emily Agnes, Beatrice L, Grace, Edith and Nelly, brothers Albert and Harry (1891 census). Husband of Emma and father of Arthur (1911 Census).

Military History

Army service records survive (TNA). Joined Northumberland Fusiliers at Newcastle upon Tyne on 19 October 1887 on his conditional discharge from the Derbyshire Regiment (Militia) on 17 October 1887. Short Service attestation with Northumberland Fusiliers, regimental number 2514. May have had a medical discharge from RFA 6th Reserve Bde. Died in Nottingham General Hospital and interred Nottingham General Cemetery (grave ref 03089)
