Arthur Brown married Mary Matilda Wright in 1910 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district they lived at 28 Oxford Street, Bulwell, they had a daughter Rose Hannah born 5th August 1911. Commencing 14th May 1917 his widow Mary was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week. His widow re married on 19th January 1918 to Ernest Bettison.

Military History

Private Arthur Brown enlisted at Mansfield whilst residing at Bulwell he was killed in action, 25th October 1916, whilst serving in the line at Sanctuary Wood near Ypres, Belgium. Buried : Railway Dugouts Burial Ground (Transport Farm), Belgium. Plot 6. Row O. Grave 21.
