He was the son of George and Elizabeth Willbond and the brother of Cecilia, Albert, Walter, Forester, Thomas, Harold and May Beatrice Willbond. In 1901 they lived at Cattle Market Lodge Meadow Lane and in 1911 at 2 Ryehill Terrace (both Nottingham).
