He was the husband of Hilda Mary (née Shaw) Clayton of Bulcote Nottinghamshire. They married in 1908 and went on to have a son Stanley Frederick Clayton who was born in 1910. In 1911 they lived at 185 Exchange Road West Bridgford and Hilda later lived at 25 Willoughby Street Beeston.

Military History
