Family History

Percy Williamson was born in 1895 and was the son of the late William Townsend and Epsey William née Bale of Husband Bosworth. William Townsend Williamson was born in 1854 at Leicestershire, he died in 1897 at Husband Bosworth, aged 43 yrs, Epsey Bale was born in 1860 at Husband Bosworth, she died in 1899 aged 39 yrs they were married in 1884 at Husband Bosworth and had 5 children. In 1911 Percy was living at Ivory Cottage, Husband Bosworth with his aunt, Elizabeth Bale 61 years a widow, he is 16 yrs old and a domestic gardener. He was the brother of Louisa A Williamson of 92 Birrell Road Sherwood Rise Nottingham.

Military History

Lance Corporal Percy Williamson enlisted at Nottingham, serving with the 2nd battalion Grenadier Guards he landed in France on 15th August 1915 and he was killed in action on 4th May 1918. He is buried at Blenvillers Military Cemetery, France.
