Frank was born in 1897 in Grimsby and was the son of Robert and Susan Alcoe, of 12 Charnwood Grove, West Bridgford, Nottingham
Frank enlisted in Nottingham and initially served with service number 66589 in the Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derbys) He was later transferred to the Durham Light Infantry and eventually via the 1st Bn Labour Coy trans to 32nd Coy Labour Corps with the service number 18648. He was wounded whilst serving in France and died on the 18th November 1917 at the age of 20 years. He is buried in Dozingham Military Cemetery.
Obituary published in the Nottingham Evening Post dated 18th November 1918:- “ALCOE. – In loving remembrance of Pte. Frank Alcoe, West Bridgford, died of wounds in France November 18th, 1917.
