Born c1897 the son of James and Elizabeth Huntbach. James was a lace designer from Staffordshire and his wife was born in Chard, Somerset a town with lace connections. The couple moved to Nottingham and in 1901 were living at No 19 Crown Street, in the St Anns region of Nottingham. They had two sons Arthur and Leonard both born in Nottingham. By 1911 the couple had moved to "Edenside" Morley Rd, Thorneywood, Nottingham and they now had five children, 4 sons and 1 daughter. Arthur had now started work as a Telephone Clerk.
He enlisted August 1914 at Carlton as Private 1495. His service number changed to 305150 and at some point he was promoted to Lance Corporal. Arthur went to France on 28 June 1915. He was killed in action in 1917 and was buried in Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe in the Pas de Calais region of France. He was eligible for the 1915 Star, British and Victory medals
